Privacy

QSuper is committed to protecting user privacy.

We understand and appreciate visitors and users of this website are concerned about their privacy, and the confidentiality and security of any information that may be provided to us, which is why we have developed this statement and privacy management plan. QSuper's Your privacy fact sheet is also available from the related documents feature on this page.

These are contained in the Information Standard agencies are required to adhere to. A copy of this standard can be accessed at the Queensland Government Chief Information Office website.

Cookies

A website can transfer information to your computer hard drive in small files called 'cookies'. Cookies can make websites easier to use by storing information about your preferences on a particular website. Some cookies leave information on your computer after your internet session finishes.

The QSuper benefit calculator uses cookies to pass information from page to page, so you don't need to type in the same data more than once. The calculator also uses a cookie to navigate through the available pages, which vary according to your superannuation account type, and to keep track of where you are if you go back to a previous page.

The benefit calculator uses cookies to store information such as your date of birth, statement date, benefit estimate date, account type and contributions, as well as navigation information. By default, this information will be saved on your computer for 24 hours. If you use the benefit calculator again before the cookies expire, the information stored will be displayed in the relevant fields and you will not have to re-enter it. However, you are given the option to delete the cookies immediately. If you are using a computer that can be accessed by other people (for example, at an internet café or a public library), then it is recommended you select this option.

Access to personal information

Right of access and correction under Information Privacy Principles 6 and 7 in the privacy scheme detailed in Information Standard 42 is limited to existing rights under the Freedom of Information Act 1992. The GSO has prepared a fact sheet explaining how to make an application for access and correction under Freedom of Information.
